Six The Musical will start a national tour from Chicago. The show will be staged at the CIBC Theater from March 29th to July 3rd, 2022. The cast and other dates and locations of the tour will be announced later. Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, this musical centered on the six ex-wives of King Henry VIII. They are the headlines of an exciting pop concert-a flip from history Narrative books of stories. The show had its North American premiere at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in 2019. As previously announced, Six will return to the Brooks Atkinson Theater on Broadway on September 17. The Broadway cast will also be announced later.
Six is a British musical, composed by Toby Marlowe and Lucy Moss, including books, music, and lyrics. This musical is a modern retelling of the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives. It is presented in the form of a popular concert. The wives take turns singing and telling their stories to see who suffers because of Henry. Therefore should become The lead singer of the band. This musical was first presented by Cambridge University students at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. Since then, it has been professionally produced in the Western District and internationally.
Six will begin a Broadway preview at the Brooks Atkinson Theater on February 13, 2020. On the day of the scheduled opening of Broadway on March 12, 2020, all Broadway theaters were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2021, “Six” announced that it will resume Broadway performances on September 17, 2021. And officially open on October 3. Moss and Armitage directed again, Carrie-Anne Ingrouille choreography, Emma Bailey set design, Gabriella Slade costume design. The original main actors are the same as the show’s 2019 North American tour.
Six, The musical on a National Tour
This is not the first national tour for Six The Musical. The North American premiere at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre (CST) in May 2019. Directed by Jamie Armitage and Lucy Moss Chicago premiere produced by London producer on the 6th, Broadway producer Kevin Mai Kevin McCollum also joined the production. According to Chris Jones, the Chicago work is likely to be an audition for Broadway. At the end of the extended Chicago show, the six broke the CST box office record and announced that the show will be shown on Broadway in 2020. The play was moved to the American Repertory Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts in late August and September 2019, and premiered in Canada at the Edmonton Castle Theatre in November. Prior to its Broadway premiere, the play moved to the Oldway Performing Arts Center in St. Paul, Minnesota from November 29 to December 22.
