Girl From the North Country will release the original Broadway cast recording on August 20. This will happen through Sony Music Entertainment’s Legacy Recordings. Recorded a few weeks before the closing of the Broadway show last year. Girl From the North Country original cast recording will be released both physically and digitally. “Girls from the North Country”, written and directed by Conor McPherson, centers on a group of homeless people.
Their story is based on the music and lyrics of Bob Dylan. And the soundtrack includes beloved songs such as “Slow Train”, “Hurricane” and “Like a Rolling Stone”. The album will feature a complete set of original Broadway actors including Todd Almond, Janet Bayarder, Jennifer Brad, and more!
The cast is accompanied by The Marouthas. It’s including Marco Paguia as music director and playing piano and organ, Andy Stack as a guitarist, Martha McDonnell as violin and mandolin, and Mary Ann McSweeney as bassist. Musicians also include Dean Sharenow for drums and percussion and Erik Della Penna for harmonica.
Girl from the North Country on Broadway
The musical was released on Broadway on March 5, 2020, a week before the theater closed due to COVID-19. The Girl from the North Country team plans to resume their performances at the Velasco Theater on Broadway starting on October 13th. The girl from the north featured Rae Smith’s landscape and costume design; Simon Hale’s orchestral, arrangement, and music supervisor, as well as additional arrangements by Hale and McPherson; Mark Henderson’s lighting design; Simon Baker’s sound design; The direction of movement.
The Broadway stage is produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment. Girl From the North Country’s original Broadway actor album was produced by Sharenow, Hale, and McPherson, and executive producers Baker and Parsons.
