Less than a month before the planned residency in Las Vegas, Journey announced a huge new tour in 2022, which will lead the band throughout the United States (plus a few stations in Canada) for four months!
“Dear friends, we are back!” Journey wrote a post on social media and have announced the tour. “Participate in our JOURNEY FREEDOM TOUR 2022 with very special guests, Billy Idol and Toto, rock with us”. Tickets for the Journey tour will be available to the public on Friday, November 19. Pre-sales of the tour will begin on Wednesday.
“For us, nothing is more exciting than playing for our incredibly loyal audience. Seeing what the world has gone through in the past 45 days and not knowing what will happen in the rest of this year or in 2021. We know that the right thing to do is to ensure that the health of our fans is not threatened. And to provide immediate refund options in light of the unexpected events caused by this terrible virus,” the organization shared in a statement at the time of cancellation.
Jounrey on tour: dates and stops
The tour will begin in Pittsburgh on February 22 and end in Hartford on May 11. This tour is the band’s first major tour since the band had to cancel the entire planned tour with The Pretenders in 2020 due to COVID. At the time, the group chose to cancel completely in May 2020. This was a better option, rather than let fans face the long postponement. Like many tours trying to persist in the face of the pandemic.
The new tour will be held in 40 cities. This includes Boston, Detroit, Toronto, Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas, Nashville, and Washington, DC. Billy Idol and Toto will provide support.
