Lackawanna Blues with yet another delay. After star and creator Ruben San Diego Hudson suffered a back injury, the opening night of the Lakwana Blues was postponed again. The solo show, originally scheduled to be postponed to September 30th, will officially open at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater on October 7th.

Ruben Santiago-Hudson suffered a back injury that caused the Lakwana Blues’ weekend performance to be canceled on September 24. The show will return on September 28th, the opening night originally announced. The show has now officially opened on September 30. The play was written, performed, and directed by Santiago-Hudson. Original music created by Bill Sims Jr. was played on stage by Grammy Award-nominated blues guitarist Junior Mack. Santiago-Hudson contains more than 20 roles. The Lackawanna Blues is set in a 1950s boarding house on the outskirts of Buffalo. Miss Rachel opens the door to anyone who needs kindness, hope, sympathy, and care.

Ruben Santiago-Hudson (born November 24, 1956, in Ruben Santiago Jr.) is an American actor, playwright, and director. His work has won national awards in all three categories. He is best known for his role as Captain Roy Montgomery in the castle of ABC from 2009 to 2011. In November 2011, he appeared in the Lydia R. Diamond play Stick Fly on Broadway. In 2013, starred in the police drama TV series “Bitter Sun” set in Detroit.
