Broadway rookie Myles Frost is set to star Michael Jackson in the upcoming music MJ. The previously announced Ephraim Sykes has left the production, citing a schedule conflict. “I left MJ with a heavy heart,” said Tony nominee Sykes. The last time he appeared on Broadway was in Ain’t Too Proud – the seductive life and era, and will appear in the second season of Netflix Russian Doll next.

“This year has brought many changes and opportunities. Although it is bittersweet to say goodbye to an iconic character and production, I am looking forward to the next thing. Thanks to the MJ team and congratulations to Miles. I can’t wait to see you become The King of Pop music, let us all celebrate the return of Broadway.”
Who is Myles Frost?
Frost is a native of Washington, D.C., and will make his Broadway debut on December 6th when the pre-opening musical at the Neil Simon Theatre on February 1, 2022, begins (as previously announced). “We are very excited about Miles,” said Christopher Weldon, musical director, and choreographer, and Tony Award winner. “All his talents point to a rising star. I look forward to working with him to shape the Myles Frost MJ Broadway!”
The show was written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage. MJ will also exhibit the setting of Tony Award winner Derek McLean, the lighting of Tony Award winner Natasha Katz, the costume of Tony Award winner Paul Tazewell, the sound design of Tony nominee Gareth Owen, and the nomination of Tony. The projection design of Peter Nigrini and the hair and wig design of Charles Lapointe. Jason Michael Webb will be the music director, David Holcenberg will be in charge of music supervision, and Holcenberg and Webb will be in charge of choreography. The casting was done by Rachel Hoffman of Telsey + Company.
MJ is produced by Lia Vollack Productions and the Michael Jackson Estate. Performances are expected to begin in December.
