The NY Knicks ran wild over LA Lakers on Tuesday night. LA Lakers were without signature star LeBron James, which made things a bit easier for Randle and NY Knicks.
Evan Fournier scored 26 points to lead the six New York Knicks by double digits. The hosts squandered all 25-point leads. And then resumed their 106-100 win of the Los Angeles Lakers without LeBron James.
Julius Randall had 20 points and 16 rebounds. And Emanuel Quickley hit four key three-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the New York team score 14 points. Russell Westbrook scored 18 points in the Lakers’ surge in the third quarter. And scored his fourth triple-double of the season (31 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists). Anthony Davis played in and scored 20 points.
Los Angeles lost for the fourth time in five games. James was expelled for a flagrant foul of No. 2 against Isaiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons in the Lakers’ victory a day ago. On Monday night, he ushered in the first suspension of his NBA career.
Lakers: Morris rolled his left ankle in the first quarter and left to have it re-taped before returning. … Alfonzo McKinnie was out because of health and safety protocols.
Knicks: RJ Barrett missed his first eight shots and finished with seven points on 2-for-11 shooting. … The Knicks signed F/C Norvel Pelle to a second 10-day contract on Monday.
Plenty of Players
Between the injury and Schroder’s expulsion, the Lakers had only eight rotation players available in the second half of Saturday’s victory. Eight is the minimum number to start the game, but Vogel said he is not worried about the Lakers facing this problem. Vogel said: “The other night, we dropped to eight points just because one player was expelled.” “But usually, when we look very tired, we still have nine people. Before this happens, I will not worry that the number of people will decrease.”
