The football game will begin earlier this week, after the NY Jets and Atlanta Falcons starting in the NFL International Series in London on Sunday morning.
Week 5 of the schedule provides fans with everything. And it’s starting with the key NFC Western game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks. Also, it’s ending with the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.
But the most interesting matchup of the weekend may be the rematch of the 2021 AFC Championship when Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
The NY Jets vs. Atlanta Falcons
On Sunday morning, the NY Jets and Atlanta Falcons will cross the pond to participate in the NFL International Series in London. The Jets and Falcons are not the most dominant team in the league. But this matchup provides a chance for New York rookie QB Zach Wilson.
After leading the Jets to defeat the Tennessee Titans for the first time last week, some momentum can be built. Wilson experienced some growing pains in his first three NFL starts. But it seemed to settle down at home in Week 4. The 22-year-old rookie threw 297 yards and two touchdowns. He demonstrated the dazzling arm talent that led the Jets to pick him and ranked second overall.
Cordarelle Patterson has been the highlight of Atlanta’s offense so far this season. Patterson scored four touchdowns in four games and over 100 yards in back-to-back melee. The 30-year-old RB/WR has 6 passes for 34 yards and 6 passes, 82 yards, and 3 touchdowns in the game against Washington.
Last week, the Jets struggled to keep Derek Henry on the ground. But they could not find a way to stop Jeremy McNichols from changing on the screen. New York needs to make the necessary adjustments to improve their running defense. Patterson is expected to have an important day.
