According to Broadway Across America, Wicked will resume its national tour this summer. This is the first Broadway tour that has resumed performance after the theater closed. The musical will be staged at the Dallas Fair Park Concert Hall from August 3 to September 5, 2021. After Broadway is closed on March 12, 2020, the tour will be suspended. Due to the uncertain return date, some tours will end early and the cost of reinstalling the product will be charged.


Wicked will resume the national tour with a show in Dallas. Tickets will go on sale on May 21. The tour will move to Charlotte and Greensboro, North Carolina; Appleton, Wisconsin; Cincinnati; Kansas City, Missouri; Costa Mesa, California; Omaha, Nebraska, and Boston. Ken Novice, president of Dallas Summer Musical, said: “We are very honored and excited to present WICKED. This is not only the return performance in Dallas but also the first Broadway performance to resume in the United States.”

According to the theater website, in preparation for production, the concert hall upgraded the air filtration system, installed a separate HEPA air purifier, increased the cleaning schedule of the theater surface, and modified the box office and ticket scanning station to limit physical contact. .Visitors are required to wear masks. Food and beverages are not allowed in the auditorium.


“Wicked” is the fifth-longest-running musical on Broadway. It premiered at the Gershwin Theater in October 2003. Wicked is one of Broadway’s standard bearers-it was in the 6,681 performance on October 28, 2019 It surpassed “Les Miserables” and became the fifth-longest performance in history. It is one of only three Broadway shows with a gross box office of more than $1 billion (the other two are “The Phantom of the Opera” and “The Lion King”). Second only to the “Lion King”. This musical is adapted from the novel “Evil: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire. The lyrics are written by Stephen Schwartz and by Winnie Holzman.
